Close Bipolar Disorder
I was diagnosied with Bipolar I in 2002. I have been hospitalized 6 times since then. I recently got out of the hospital after a 28 day stay for a depressive episode. I average foing in to the hospital at least 1 time a year. Just looking for some support.
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- Didnt work at all, ended up in the hospital with a manic episode.
- Ativan Working / Worked
- Used for a short time, worked while in use.
- Depakote Not Working
- Was on several different doses, they kept having to increase me on this drug. Ended up in the hospital about 3 times while on this drug.caused significant weight gain.
- Geodon Working / Worked
- Currently on, working well have adjusted the dose several times. on 60 mgs now.
- Lithium Not Working
- Didnt work, got very sick on lithium and was taken off of it.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- worked for a while then mood shifted, ended up in the hospital with a major depressive episode and was taken off of it.
- Trileptal Not Working
- didnt work, ended up in the hospital while taking it.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- was on for a short time, worked while i was on it. few side effects.
- Zyprexa Working / Worked
- worked but cause weight gain. was only on for 1 year.
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- currently working, recently had the dose adjusted again while in the hospital.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionAm Bipolar, but have had trouble with major depression for years, It seems like when I get straightened out a nother bout hits me full force. This one has been the worst yet. I was reasy to kill myself. had the loaded gun to my head and then realize my girls were on there way home from school..The next day at my Drs apt, she realized what was going on and had me taken to the hospital..I was in for 27days..could have stayed longer, but the insurance wouldnt pay more that 30 days..
Treatments
- Electroconvulsive therapy Working / Worked
- Currently using this therapy,, seems to be working some.. not a lot.. have had 10 and just now switching to 1x a week.. main side effect is memory loss.. which I hate because I am not forgetting the things I want, just the things I need to remember.
- Geodon Working / Worked
- Prozac Working / Worked
- Seeems to be helping a little bet, but not much.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- I go 1-2 a week and it works the best out of everything.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Zoloft Working / Worked
