About Me
I'm a 30 yr old female that has recently been diagnosed with chronic hep c. I was given this terrible disease when I used i.v. drugs and carelessly shared needles with others. I began treatment 6 weeks ago with pegasys, 180 mcg once a week and take 1000 mg of ribasphere a day..My viral load was 30 million! After a month it's undetectable. I'm here to learn from my past and discuss my tx with everyone. I got hep c for a reason and it's sounds weird but having this disease has helped open my eyes. I want to live and be healthy for once in my life.
Interests
Family and friends are a big part of my life. I love photography, dirt track racing, hockey, nature.

Close Hepatitis C
I've recently learned through routine blood work done at the doctor that I have elevated liver enzymes. Later found that it's due to hep c. I was a heroin addict for 2 years and shared needles with my boyfriend at the time. I learned that not long after we broke up that he had the disease and that 's where I contracted it from. So I've started treatment and am feeling the effects of treatment and need to know if what I'm feeling is normal.
Treatments
- Pegylated Interferon Working / Worked
- My body has aches and pains and the day after my injection I'm so tired and lazy. And I have spots at the injection site and dry skin
- Ribavarin Working / Worked
- Where do I begin with the side effects...fatigue, nausea, dry skin, dry mouth, stinking breathe, muscle aches, depression, major mood swings....
