   I'm new at dialysis. I just found out in December 2007 that I only had 11% kidney function. What a kick in the stomach that was! I got my fistula & temporary chest cath. on Jan 11, and started dialysis on Jan 13. It was like being in a whirlwind.

   For several months prior, I would come home from work and justfall asleep in my chair and sleep all afternoon. My husband & I had no idea why this was happening. So when I went to the dr to get renew prescriptions, she made an appt for meto see  a nephrologist the very next day.

   i go to treatment on Monday,Wednesday and Friday, 3 hours each for now. I am still producing urine, just not filtering. 

  I'm very lucky, tho. My dialysis team is wonderful. They are all there for me at any time, for anything. We have a good time at treatment, but our care & health is top priority.

   My husband is the best support in the world. He is there for me all the time. He was with me on my first day of dialysis, and for dr visits. It would have been very difficult without him, and I thank God for him every day.
