My name is Lizabeth. I was born with bilateral dysplastic kidney disease. They just didnt form. When i was 13 i was put on PD and stayed on that till i was 19y/o. it's been an experience..like a roller coaster up and down. Ive had hemorrhaging ovarian cysts (15) , scoliosis (as of 9y/o), osteopnea (18y/o) arthritis and so on..I am thankful im still alive and i love being in nursing school. i have two degrees one in Cardiovascular Technology, and EMT and i have one more year left in nursing!!
I was on dialysis (PD) from 13y/o to 19. There are alot of things not even your doctor will mention especially when youre a young adolescent female. Kidneys regulate your growth hormone...and mine didnt realize that. i was anemic and hypoxic and no one knew it...my mom figured it out. shes always been very involved. now shes an Nurse practitioner in nephrology..go figure! hah
after my kidney transplant i developed htn, and mvr and avr..its moderate at the moment. hopefully it will stay that way..but they say expect valve surgery in 10yrs (4 yrs ago)
i only talk about this in private messages..but it was in 2006
I have sooo much stuff wrong with my body...heath issues and to top it off im on antirejection meds for my transplant..so that increases it..
i just moved to a new part oof town and started nursing school last august... im going crazy with this..
im on prednisone..steroid for my kidney transplant...im a college student and i just want some advice and modivation
