Electrical Engineer with a strong passion for medicine.
I hope my username doesn't offend you. I'm not trying to make fun of mental health issues in ANY way, I simply use humor to lesson my own pain and suffering. I hope you aren't upset by it! If it's a simple matter of not understanding what it means, then it's supposed to be "insanity". Which, is where I live, population ONE (if you get my meaning). Hope this helps and finds you well and happy. Smiles, insanadee
Hi!! Sorry I've not got back to you sooner...haven't been around for a few days. Glad you're liking the group...spread the word!
:0) Thanks!
Thanks. It IS hard...especially when my sugars are running high. Thanks for the encouragement. I am doing this thing COLD TURKEY, as they say. So far, so good. 6 days and counting... -JeAndRo
I have been off of Byetta for just about a month now. Sugars can creep up in the morning, sometimes, but I try to exercise before bed and that helps. I check my sugars 3-4 times a day. This morning it was 96. YAY! My last HA1C test was last month on the 5th, and it was 5.6% I have more labs on April 21st to see what's happening then. Let's hope I don't need the meds! Good to have you on the "friends" list. Have a wonderful day! Be well and happy. -JeAndRo

I have diabetes since 1998. I have been fighting this disease with all my strength. I do believe that I have a special type of diabetes called LADA, but here in USA is not recognized.
I have diabetes since ten years ago.I discovered it when I went into a diabetic coma: my HA1c was 12.9.I began using up to 50 units a day of NPH and 1000mg of metformin.I began exercising and eating low to near zero carbohydrates. In this way in six months I reduced my insulin to ZERO. I was still taking metformin. Last year I began to take insulin (Lispro) for a total of 15 units a day because my HA1c was 7.8 and my blood sugar had peaks of 350. 3 Months ago I added 25 units of Lantus.
