Close Pulmonary Embolism
I had sudden chest pain, sweating and couldn't breathe. I had PE which originiated in a vein in groin area "common iliac vein" some clot still there. I had a spray across both lungs, which the specialist said was "quite spectacular", including some large clots. Was in hospital for a week and back with my parents for a while. Was searching for time-frames for recovery when I came across this site.
Treatments
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Only on it for 2 weeks so far. No side-effects
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed when I took part in a twin study on PCOS - aged 15. Didn't have symptoms (or get treatment) until early 20s. Recently had PE (blood clots in lungs) so can no longer take the pill.

- Oral Contraceptives Working / Worked
Open Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
I had a PE in feb 08 - sudden chest pain, sweating and breathlessness from a DVT (I had no idea I had it).
