- Running helps so much. I am attention deficit. I have signs of some type of depression and anixety. I have a history of self abuse. I have always been a pretty good runner, but I never noticed the great effects it has until I reached highschool. I would run to blow off steam, I would run to forget about the bad, I would run to find peace in me, I would run to help with self esteem, I would run to help my concentration, I would run to help me figure out current issues, I would run to help my memory, I would run to help me acheive certain goals, I would run to chase after what I really wanted, I would run to appreciate life just a little bit more. And I thank god for giving me legs so I can run. Although since I do have some mental and emotional problems, I don't always keep up with running, which can get frustrating, because I do so much better in life when I do run. Running can help with focus and ability, it can help with desire, it helps with anxiety, it helps with self doubt, it helps with so much!! I am going to get back into running and I am really going to try and stick with it. It's very theraputic and a good treatment for many types of disorders. People who like running and know what it's about should really try at keeping up with it. If it helps, then stick with it. I know it's hard to get going, but once you do you'll be so thankful afterwards, really. It may take more than a day to notice it, it may even take more than a week, but if you know what's best for you, you'll stick with it. Make time for this. Enjoy it. And realize that this is important. Don't let minor things get in your way of running.
