About Me
I'm someone who's always had a very hectic life. I"m an RN and have been for more than half my life. I'm a very nurturing person and much prefer to help others than to actually address my own issues. I'm usually not comfortable discussing my problems and limitations with others. Thank you DS for that! I'm very passionate about my work and family. I wish that I felt better because there is so much more that I want to do.....lots of plans, but I just barely have the energy for work. I've been with my sweetie for 4 yrs now. He truly is a gift. He has 50/50 custody of his 3 kids with his ex who is truly crazy. Our life can be a soap opera. Great reality TV...without scripts.
Interests
Camping, walking, gardening, swimming, reading and I love cats! Especially my own....just recently lost my 16 yo cat Mikey....and I'm still sad. Being with my family is one of my most favorite past times...I have 4 sisters, one neice and 7 nephews. Also have several friends that are like family.. and oh yes I like DS too!

Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I've had CFS since the late '80's after a bout with mono. Had 2 and a half years of severe illness with chronic high fevers and swollen glands..followed by brief bouts of remission.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Mainly use it for the fibromaylagia
Open Restless Legs Syndrome
I've had RLS since I was a preteen. Started on meds for this 15 yrs ago. It runs in my family...my mother and my 4 sisters have it. None of them have it to the point of needing meds though. My RLS seems to get worse and worse, it's goes into my arms now and the symptoms start in as early as noon time...Just recently the public is aware of it....so people don't look at me like...what??
Treatments
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- Did not help enough...and always felt hung over.
- Massage Working / Worked
- This only works if the person keeps on massaging the legs. But this does hurt because I also have fibromyalgia.
- Mirapex Working / Worked
- This medication worked the best so far....but the excessive swelling of my feet caused me to stop. Was on this for 5 yrs. 2 mg daily.
- Requip Working / Worked
- Have been on this now for 6 mos. It works but not fast enough. I need at least 6 mg a day and feel very tired and more sluggish than usual. Started to have swelling of the feet now.
Open Families & Friends Of Addicts
For 3 yrs I've been in a serious relationship with a man who's ex-wife is a serious alcoholic, anorexic and bulimic. This would not affect us as much as it does except for the fact that they split the custody of the 3 kids, 8, 11 and 13 . She had lost custody during our relationship for DWI with the kids in the car and then somehow gained it back. My boyfriend goes thru hell because of this and the kids have serious issues as a result of this long term neglect.

- Patience Not Working
- I have been too patient I think. It tend to bottle up the anger and hold it in.
- Talking Somewhat Helpful
- I talk to friends about it....but they all feel that I need to distance myself from her...how do I do that?
- Writing Working / Worked
- Journaling has helped recently...it gets my anger out.
