I'm a working grandmother of five, mother to two. Now I work as a counselor. I work 4 11 hours days a week and have for the last 8 years. They are long days but I surrounded by people the entire day and have no time to dwell on poor me. I was diagnosed with COPD a couple of months ago, but knew I needed help for a long time prior to that, just didn't go to the doctor. They are working on getting the right combination of meds for me. I am also starting pul. rehab next week.
I enjoy traveling, learning, laughter, people, exploring, reading, my family, eating out, hiking (when I can), the woods, geneology, computers, friends, learning, animals, naturally curious person.

I quit smoking 9/29/07 when I couldn't walk to the car anymore. I had not seen a doctor, they may want a chest Xray and I spent 30 years avoiding that. I just knew I would bounce right back when I quit smoking. It didn't happen. I started walking and it got way way worse. I knew I was in trouble. Finally made it to the doctor and confessed all the end of January. I was put on inhalers. Just started Spiriva, Albuteral and found this site. I want to thank you all, you're giving me hope.
