Close Smoking Addiction & Recovery
Last cigarette 11/24/07. Nicotine-free since 1/10/08, after smoking almost 30 years. One day at a time!
Treatments
- Nicotine Gum Working / Worked
- Used it for first 6 weeks or so. It helped a lot! I stopped when it felt like it was keeping enough nicotine in me to keep me craving, but not enough to satisfy the craving. Bit my cheek a LOT! And had a sore jaw from chewing.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- Online forums. Nicotine Anonymous.
Close Single Dads
I have 50% custody of my 6-year-old son. His mom and I both are involved in his daily life. A lot of ups and downs for mom and dad getting along, but both of us are committed to his well-being and we do not undermine each other. He is the most wonderful, delightful boy I could ever imagine, and the greatest joy in my life!

- Embedded myself in AA for first year. I continue to participate. AA saved my life, and then showed me how to have a life worth living!

- Blogging! http://recrum.blogspot.com I kept my blog from just before my last relapse, through first year of sobriety. (I still post an entry now and then.) The marvelous community of recovering bloggers was instrumental in my early sobriety.
