It must be near a full moon.  Resident's with mental illness were severely disturbed today.  Unfortunately, the fricken nursing staff not only did not document anything on it for the past four days but they wouldn't give the PRN medication, preferring instead to use the "you deal with her" approach. Okay, there is only soooo much I can do with coping skills and 1:1's. When someone is chasing after their family swinging their cane and I have to step in front, I get a bit pissed at nursing.  Work was not bad otherwise.  What weighs on me today is my friends who are hurting.  I want so badly to have that magic wand to take away their frustration and pain.  Unfortunately, all I can do again is provide the shoulder they need to cry on, the ear to vent in and the love to lift them.  I hope it is enough.  To those whom know I am speaking of them this day, I am here!!
