I'm married and have a wonderful child. What should be the happiest time of my life is colored by my past. Every problem that arises now is only amplified by my own insecurities.
Interests
I collect fossils. (I took invertebrate paleontology in college.) British literature is my passion. I like to read and do a wide variety of arts and crafts. Lately, I've been doing baby-related projects since I had my son on May 2.

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI finished out my dialectic therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder. It really did help. I've had major depression since the age of eight, when I first attempted suicide. I'm not self-destructive, but being bpd I'm destructive towards most positive relationships.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- It seemed like no counselor was around long enough to really help. It was good do have someone constructive to talk to, but I never really got closure on anything.
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- It put me to sleep and that's really all I needed. I had to stop b/c it was interfering with my ability to do homework.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
- It did enpower me. I felt stronger, but many times I didn't feel like my counselors really understood.
Close Sexual Abuse
I was sexually abused by my babysitter's parents from the age of around 6 to 8. It wouldn't have hurt so bad if it wasn't for the fact that my mom had to have known and still sent me over there.

Open Physical & Emotional Abuse
I was physically and emotionally abused by my mother. It got to the point where she tied me up and left me in a closet. When I moved in with my father, he continued the emotional abuse. He left me to take care of my infant brothers and his epileptic wife.

- I trained really hard to be a mother. I took a class on childhood development and continue to research on anything I'm hazy about. I also raised two of my brothers, so hopefully that experience will help. I'm a big advocate of babycenter.
