phew Friday already Mood
Saturday, May 17, 2008

We've been in triple digits for a couple of days - thank goodness it cools down nicely at night! It's been such a busy week, seems like it flew by.

Thursday the kids all came to dinner ... tonight Heather and Trenton came again. I love these cool nights when we just sit out on the porch and chat. We also keep our eyes peeled for the foxes. Didn't see one tonight but saw the grey one last night. Not really much going on - skipped the meeting tonight because I just felt like staying home. Will babysit Trenton for a couple of hours tomorrow evening while Shane and Heather go to a wedding. I've promised him a ride in Grandma's red wagon ;-)

Here it's after 11pm and I haven't even fed my dogs dinner yet. I like to wait until it's cooled down and let them run a bit before they eat. They're full of energy now after having a siesta since this morning. So I'll give them time to burn it off before feeding and tucking in for the night. I'm gonna try to get to Home Depot this weekend to get the pieces and tools needed to make their mister system more efficient for when it gets really hot. Also need to pick up some fly spray - where the heck do these flies come from?? They bite poor Jubee on her ear tips. I hate those flies and we get them each year when the weather gets warm - I scoop a couple of times a day so there really isn't any reason for them to hang around. I use the fly spray that is made for horses and it takes care of any fleas that might show up, too. The dogs hate being sprayed ;-/

Time to wind down my day, get the dishes done and set up the coffee pot for the morning. Hope you all feel great and have fun plans for the weekend!

Sounds like a great end to the week. However, I could live without hundred degree temps. Have a great weekend my friend. ((hugs))marcia

Now that's what I need to do, set up coffee to brew in the morning. The smell of coffee and bacon always wakes me up. I'm not sure an earthquake would wake me out of a sound sleep but I know bacon will, lol. I know the dry heat is easier to tolerate, but triple digits? That doesn't happen here very often; I'm not sure I could survive much of that! Well have a great Sunday...hugs jilly

I get yellow jackets or wasps or something every summer on the lawn where my dog is hanging out all day. He got bit by something a couple weeks ago and that led to a $150 vet visit...do you have any suggestions for this? Glad you're gonna have fun with the baby!! xoxo J

Wednesday night Mood
Thursday, May 15, 2008

It was a long day topped off by an excellent meeting. Took on a new sponsee so have to be ready to spend hours on the phone, working steps, etc. I can hardly wait to see what I'm gonna learn! Stayed late for 'the meeting after the meeting' with a couple of other members who are "double winners". These times are absolutely priceless and I'm so grateful to belong to this group.

The swelling is almost all gone ... but still I resisted hard work today, altho I really wanted to plant those trees! Instead, I picked up the hose and just watered for a couple of hours - ok, did pull some weeds but that's all! Watering is one of my favorite things ... no phone, no tv ... just quiet. We've got some hot weather coming up so I guess I'll be pretty serene!

and now I've got to totter (that's what us old folks do) off to bed.

Sleep well, y'all!
