      thanks for your message, I dont think I will be going to work again for a long time either, have varicose veins appearing on my left calf... must be to compensate for the blocked veins !!! annoying and blimmin painful

      I've only been seeing a family doctor who consulted a specialist to see what tests to run. Now I am seeing a cardiologist that is also an internist. I went to the cardiologist because my EKG has become abnormal and I am still suffering chest pain. Let me know how your heamtologist (SP) appt. goes. what they do. I'm just wondering if I should go to a specialist. Mine was a PE (blood clot in the lungs). Who sent you to the cardiologist to begin with? I was just wondering. Welcome to DS!

      I was just diagnosed on Feb 7th 2008 with my 4th DVT.. My 1st one was in 2000 2 months after having ankle surgery...On May 1st 2008 I found out I had another clot I surely hope this is my last one!! Iam disabilty from this.

      Treatments

      Coumadin Somewhat Helpful
      I have been on Coumadin since the 1st blood clot and still cloted again..from my grion to my knee and behind my knee My last clot diagnosed on May 1st 2008 My INR was 4.5... I will now be on Arixtra injections for the rest of my life since I continue to clot thru Coumadin
      Heparin Somewhat Helpful
      had heparin in the hospital
      Lovenox Somewhat Helpful
      used it in the hospital and then continued coumadin at home

      Iam 45 and I was just diagnosed with DVT(blood clot) in my left leg for the 3rd time on Feb 7th. Then I found out I had shingles on the 18th. Yikesss this is painful. Leg was one thing, but this feels like someone is stabbing me with hot pokers. It's across my upper right chest. Hopefully it goes away sooonnnnnn!
