Try to not worry too much honey. I am 33 yrs old and have 2 beautiful children and I have PKD. My daughter is now 11 and my son is 1. Just keep an eye on your blood pressure. This is very important! PKD can cause a brain aneurysm and childbirth can also bring it on if you have PKD. I suffered a brain aneurysm a month and a half after giving birth to my son in 2006. It was so severe theydid not expect me to live and if I did live they had expexted me to lose motor functions and my memory. I did not though. I lived and I have all my motorskills and memories. I had a stroke when they did the operation to clip the aneurysm so there is 1 minor problem I have from that-my left foot drags when I get extremely tired. Make sure you have discussions with your doc in the future about getting an MRI done on your brain. This is how they can find out if you may suffer from an aneurysm. VERY IMPORTANT! Your kids will have to be tested as well because PKD is hereditary. Make sure you have a really good support system around you.If you ever need to talk contact me. Close Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
I was diagnoised with pkd when I was 19years old. I am 29 Years old now with no problems until recently. I just found out i'm pregnant and might have preclampsia. When I was tested the other day it showed high levels of protein. I came here to see if anyone else with pkd had these problems.

I just found out I am pregnant for fourth time. I have 2 children ages 4 and 3 and I lost one at 7 1/2 weeks pregnant.
