Feeling better as I get further into recovery and enjoy the friendships I have found in AA and on DS. I went on some very early "geographicals" - born in England but spent most of my childhood and young adult years in Africa, have also lived in the Middle East for some years and visited SC a few times. Happy to be working towards a sober and free me and the better person I can become. I appreciate life without the fog of alcohol. Love people again (alcohol made me isolate) and I'm interested in everyone's story - we all have something valuable to contribute to life.

Chronic alcoholic for all my adult life but have been sober since 1 May 2007.

Someone in my immediate family has recently been diagnosed.
An elderly lady I care about has this and it is getting worse.
