About Me
Retired Marriage & Family Counselor living in suburb of Portland Oregon. Diagnosed with MS late in life - age 54. I've been back here in Oregon since June '05 (I grew up here and left at age 22 for the Bay Area)and had spent 37 years in the Bay Area (SF Bay Area). I miss it dearly but can no longer afford to live there. I am on Disability. I am divorced and live alone with my two Shih Tzus.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Seconday Progressive MSAlthough I had the symptoms for 32 years, I was not diagnosed with MS till I was 54 years old! After diagnosis, I went way downhill. I am still ambulatory with a cane, but my life has changed 100%, and I haven't worked since 2000. I would like to talk to other MS'ers and see how they cope. Walking is a major problem, as is standing past two minutes!
Treatments
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- Tysabri Working / Worked
- I haven't had an exacerbation since April '05!! Of course, I was on Copaxone then. I started Tysabri in Oct. 06. I'm not sure of the side effects, but
- Baclofen Not Working
- Ive been on Baclofen for almost three years and cant tell if its working. I take 10 mg daily. My joints still hurt and I make a face when I arise from a laying or sitting position
