      My name is Joni, I am 55 and have been on synthroid for 30 years. After menapause, my thyroid levels appeared to be normal with medication, but I became more and more depressed fat and lazy. I went to a new doctor and was diagnosed with a .01 T3,. Now I take synthroid and 2 cytomels a day. Still fat, not as lazy and not overly happy most of the time.

      Treatments

      Cytomel Somewhat Helpful
      Better then with out it. It was a struggle to get out of bed with out it.
      Synthroid Working / Worked
      Works fine. Must take the brand name synthroid, the generics stopped working for me.
      Lexapro Working / Worked
      I am not as depressed Still not my old self.

      Took for about 6 mos. Got me through the hot flashes.
