Why me???? Mood

Another day another dollar? How about another day of a co-worker cussing me out?

I am so tired of these young sensitive girls getting all bent out of shape over stupid stuff. I accidentally (truly, I swear it) skipped someone in rotation for a walk in today. She was either walking through the store, out smoking a cigarette, or doing something else useless, because she wasn't in the salon. I took the client to  my chair and did a consultation, decided on what we would do, and I got ready to begin:when the missing stylist came over and ordered me into the dispensary and proceeded to cuss me up one side and down the other, even using the F word. I tried to explain and even apologize, but she wouldn't listen or accept my "I am so sorry." She walked to the front of the salon and proceeded to say that I did it on purpose and that she was going to let the management know what I had done. She has a more personal rapport with our manager as she was this stylist's beauty school teacher 2 years ago. Am I mad? Yes! Am I upset? Yes! Am I worried? Somewhat yes. I am (not to sound conceited) a very generous and compassionate person. I always give stuff away in the salon to those who have less clientele than me. I would never do anything like that on purpose. I almost gave her the client after her tirade, but decided that it was best for the client to stay in my chair. I have nearly 20 years experience and she has 2 years.  It was an intricate foil color job and a razor haircut. Both razor cutting and foils are my specialty. Anyway she wound up going home early because she was so pissed off at me. The whole incident ruined the enthusiasm of my day. The color/cut was perfect. The client hugged me, re booked an tipped me 30%. I did a couple more haircuts and one more color/hc before AF reared her ugly nasty head. I went home 30 min early. I feel like crap! Any comments/ideas on how to handle this situation in the salon would be great.

Thanks for listening.

I don't know how you should handle it but it doesn't seem like she is interested in making money if she wasn't in the salon when it was her time AND... she went home early! I don't know. I would just explain to your manager what happened...That is all you can really do. Sorry about AF.

I don't really have any great advice either, but I agree with lvnikita in that you should just talk to the manager and explain what happened. If she has any insight, she will see that is was an honest mistake, and everything will be fine. I'm really sorry that happened, and I know what you mean about young sensitive girls....been there, done that!!!! Ugh. Makes you want to slap them! But I think you did the right thing in keeping that client, because it wouldn't have been good PR to have switched since you had already given her a consult. And I'm glad she was so happy with how it turned out!!! I only wish you were closer so I could use you too!! I need a good stylist....

As for AF showing up along with everything else, I'm really sorry about that too. I know it stinks every time she shows!!!! It's not what we want or hope for. But just hang in there, and keep clinging to that verse....because you WILL be a joyful MOTHER of CHILDREN!!! It will just be in God's timing.... (Sometimes that's just sooo freakin' hard to wait for!)

Big hugs to you, and I will pray for wisdom for you to know how to deal with the situation at work....
