      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

      I'm a 48 year old male that has been hospitalized four times in the past year. Currently, I'm telling my story from inside the Mood Disorders Unit at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.

      Treatments

      Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
      Difficult therapy to master but helpful when I can get through a complete thought log.
      Prozac Too Soon to Tell
      Increasing dosage to 40 mg today.
      Trazodone Somewhat Helpful

    • Close Alcoholism

      Suffering with dual diagnosis for past four years. Current sobiety time 2 weeks

      Treatments

      AA Meetings Somewhat Helpful
      AA meetings make me feel worse.
      Cold Turkey Working / Worked
      Works as long as I can stick with it...always tend to relapse
      Residential Treatment Center Working / Worked
      Leaving for a 28 day program on 1/29/08
      Trazodone Working / Worked
      use for sleep
      Willpower Working / Worked

    • Open Breakups & Divorce

      Divorced in 2001 after 9 years of marriage. Two wonderful boys ages 13 and 10. Relationship with ex is still to this day problematic.

      Couples Counseling Not Working
      Tried withou success
      Forgiveness Not Working
      I can't seem to get there.
      Pets Working / Worked
      Love my cats
      Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
      One of many issues that I'm working out.

      Most are wonderfully supportive.
