Hello MB, I take Nerontin 400mgs 4 times a day. If I can't sleep at night because of pain, I can take another 400mgs. I take 7.5 mgs Vicodin every 4 hours. It sounds like you are taking quite a bit of that. 8 years ago, when fibro first started coming on, I was a size 8 at 130 pounds. Today, I'm a size 14 so knowing what med where changed my weight, it's hard to say.

The nuerontin is actually an anti-seizure medication & a nerve pain med. I don't know what I would do without it. I don't like it in the respect that it does make this chubby girl eat too, lol. Many prayers, love & hugs to you today MB.

Thank the Lord! What good news, MB. I'm not sure what you mean by head drugs; please elaborate. I was wondering what cholesterol med you are on. I too have high chol. but couldn't tolerate the med because muscle pain is one of it's side effects. I have did a complete dietary change & I'm trying to walk some. But I just can't take that med. I AM 46 WORKING MOTHER SEARCHING FOR HELP FINDING WHAT WORKS FOR FIBROYALGIA. MY PAIN IS SO INTENSE IT IS UNBELIEVABLE. THOSE WHO LOVE ME BELIEVE ME AND I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND DOCTORS WHO CARE. THEY DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT TO DO AND TELL ME TO FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS. I SPEND OVER HALF MY DAY IN TEARS AND I NEVER HAVE A DAY WITHOUT PAIN. MY FAMILY THANK GOD IS SUPPORTIVE BUT I NEED TO FIND SOME WAY TO DEAL WITH THIS PAIN.
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- HOT WATER FEELS GOOD. HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHERE THE JETS ARE.
- Cymbalta Not Working
- I COULD NOT TOLERATE THIS PILL IT MADE ME SICK.
- Duragesic Patch Working / Worked
- I WAS ON THS FENTANYL PATCH AND THEN MY DOCTOR SENT ME TO THE PAIN CLINIC TO MANAGE IT AND THEY TOOK ME OFF OF IT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT ME TO GET ADDICTED. IT DID PROVIDE SOME RELEIF.
- Lyrica Not Working
- THIS PILL WAS NASTY. IT MADE ME DIZZY AND SICK. STOPPED TAKING IT.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- I HAD A ROOT CANAL AWHILE BACK AND HAD SOME LEFT OVER VICODIN IT DOES PROVIDE SOME RELIEF. NOT ENTIRELY BUT ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH THE DAY. THE DOCTOR DOES NOT WANT TO PRESCRIBE IT FOR FIBRO BECAUSE SHE IS AFRAID OF ADDICTION. I DONT WANT TO BE ADDICTED EITHER BUT I CANT FIND ANY RELIEF EXCEPT THAT I USED TO WITH THE PATCH OR A NARCOTIC.
