    • Close Healthy Eating

Here I am searching for a group again. Tried others. I don't have to release weight. I truly want to eat healthy (not under or overeat). I find that eating bread brings on the urge/craving for more. I typically overeat at buffets/parties. Many times I eat after the party, appearing to have control in front of others.

      Treatments

      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
Walking, weights, aerobics. I really enjoy walking, especially in the early morning.
    • Close Nutrition

I have been interested in good nutrition for a very long time.

      Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
I keep my caffeine and sugar consumption down and watch my refined carbs and breads also.
    • Open Diets & Weight Maintenance

Don't know if this will be were I belong.

      Treatments

      Atkins Diet Working / Worked
Got tired of all the protein, no fruit, and carbs. Always when back to other foods.
      Counting Calories Working / Worked
I keep a food diary with portions (at times) I don't write down calories. Keepting a food diary and e-mailing it to a food partner helps very well.
      Dancing Working / Worked
I have done Jazzercise for 15 years and loved it. I then joined 24 Hr. Fitness.
Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
I have eliminated foods successfully and substituted healthy foods.
      Eat Less Working / Worked
I do enjoy larger portions. I have weighed and measured with success.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
I love to go to the gym, aerobics, water aerobics, mimi trampoline, walking outdoors/malls, some weights. All working.
      Slim-Fast Working / Worked
I didn't care for it and it was not satisfying.
South Beach Diet Working / Worked
I have used this food plan successfully.
      Weight Watchers Working / Worked
I tried it in the past but didn't succeed at getting to goal.

The story is a long one, with many years dealing with an alcoholic/mentally ill son who is now 40 yrs. old. I'm tired. However, Al Anon/Friends/Sponsor helps.

      Treatments

      Al-Anon Working / Worked
This is the best place for support and love. I've learned a great deal from other mothers of alcoholics.
      Patience Working / Worked
I have learned tolerance and acceptable of this situation.
      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
I am fortunate to have had an excellent therapist who helped our whole family.
