Frownbeen staying home last several days. been trying to feel better and conserve energy. had a mild flare but it made my skin burn and muscles ache. i didn't want to do anything to worsen it. it's been raining almost every day here. but that's a good thing and keeps it cool. seems the flare isn't all over, woke up this morning with another migraine. got all the noise and light sensitivity and nausea. didn't want to eat breakfast but i gotta take meds or i'll be REALLY sick. so i drank some soy milk and chewed on a few peanuts before taking my handfull of pills. hoipefully this will pass really soon so i can get back to doing somethings this weekend.

additional note:

found out Monday that my fibromyalgia may have been brought on by something i was exposed to when working in the crash site of the Pentagon. all the military officers were wearing hazmat suits but us enlisted weren't. i didn't think anything of it back then cuz orders are orders and you don't question everything. but later as the years passed i started thinkin about that and find that kind of strange. the guy at the American Legion wants a statement about it to make a claim with the VA for more disability comp. found out another woman that was also working in that crash site is sick now too. and i just found out this morning that one of my ex Sargeants was just dx with Parkinson's Disease. I read that PD may be a result of expossure to toxicity. Could all of what we are suffering from be linked to the Pentagon??

ABSOLUTELY can be linked to the Pentagon! Why not, firemen and women and Police are dying from the lung issue at the towers. YES, I think you need to pursue this. If I find a source for you I will send it so you can read up and see how to at least be covered by the military. The country needs to take care of those vets that served no matter what. We don't ask for it most of the time but still.
God bless, you will be in my prayers.

Oh God...you guys need to get loud about this. WTF..no hazmat suits for ya'll ..but officers got them. ha..what a bunch of shit! I know a bunch of fisrt responders didnt wear hazmat or even masks in NYC. now they seem to be dying..or really sick. You guys need to maybe get in touch with someone in NYC and see what they are doing about it there or what they are ill with and just maybe touch base with people who know what your going through? Im so sorry your ill sweet girl

I definitely think you should pursue it and I agree wholeheartedly with SgtMaj, and Federalmom. Officers get the Hazmat suits and you don't? I mean that is downright abusive! I recommend you get in touch with some of the NYPD/FDNY that were there on 9/11 and are having problems. They would be a good resource for you. You remain in my prayers. Wally

Bloody hell!!! That sucks. I hope you can get some more compo out of them at the very least. NOt that money fixes us :(
I just really hope that any exposure you've had is limited to fm and nothing more. That is more than enough to deal with.
    Take care

PS: I hope you're feeling better soon - take it easy.

wow, i never thought of such a thing. stupid officers always get treated better than us enlisted, and for what reasons....because we didnt do college first, it's a crock of shit. i cant believe i am reading something like this; especially from a friend. i would check in with your local va patient rep and see that they have to offer too. i really cant believe this shit, if there is anything i can do to help you pursue more help, please let me know...u know i am only an hour train ride from Washington DC Veterans Hospital and it's pretty political there.
i love you and wanted to thank you for ALWAYS checking in on me, it mean soo much to me
    love ya

I am not sure that the PD could be. I used to work as a nurse, and never heard of that being a possibility, that and my dad died from complications to PD in'95...If he was exposed to anything, it would have been during WWII when he served in the Pacific...50 years before he died! And then he was a clerk with the 98th EVAC Hospital in the Phillipines. ( He did get to witness the signing on the USS Missouri? (Spelling) before coming home.

Wow that's kind of scary to hear, although I guess it wouldn't surprise me too much. It's just sad that so many people are getting sick now that assisted at the Pentagon, and in New York.

IF I REMEMBER RIGHT, THE GREATEST TOXICITY WAS INHALING THE UNBURNED OR EVEN BURNED JET FUEL. MIX THAT WITH ANYTHING ELSE IN THE PENTAGON AND YOU COULD HAVE AN EXTREMELY TOXIC ENVIROMENT TO BE EXPOSED TO. I WOULD MOST DEFINETELY PURSUE THIS FURTHER WITH THE VA AND WHOEVER ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF.

Hon, I had no idea you were there during that mess! You really don't want me to say what I think about that situation as a whole except you have to be taken care of NOW, for doing what you did THEN! I don't know a whole lot about where or when you served, but do know, I thank you and support you whole heartedly. Our next door neighbor's son who is 18, will soon be enroute to Afghanistan. The last day he's home is Saturday and I sure hope it's not the last time we ever see him :( I think he realizes it now more than ever. Anyway, you should try to get to the bottom of this. Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm so sorry you have to deal with all this BS! Hugs!!

Yeah there could be a connection between the two, it is worth in looking into. I mean look at my condition i did not have this before i went into both Afganstan and Iraq when both wars started.

I was the navy from 1956 to 1960 and then the Air Force for four yrs. I don't remember what year it was, but i got a letter form the Navy Dept. warning us about the asbestosis we were exsposted(sp) to on the old ship's aircraft and navel air stations built before the days of WWII which covered up to the year 1960. Some of my mates also got them. I think it said if we came down with anything do to the asbestosis they would take care of us.
Maybe there is some type of deal for the people that were at the clean up location at the pentagon wont hurt to check it out.
Good luck and i hope everything comes out ok for you and the others who were there without special gear.

    Dear Blue:

Do ya THINK? I love my corps, and I love the brethren by blood. But I believe the government lies when the truth would serve it better. Especially the part about officers in hazmat suits, and enlisted left to take their chances. There is an awful lot that has been put on the net about the Pentagon crash. I suspect everything I read on the net, but there are some things about what we were told that do not add up. The debris field at the pentagon does not add up to a huge airliner. So I am in support of you going after the Vietcong Administration for everything you have coming. They are a disgrace!

well i had to go there the same day of the crash. but i wasn't called in to do so till that night. for the next 1 year or so, i had to clean up in the crash site about 3x a week. and from what i have seen it was a small plane but it went all the way through all 5 layers. you could smell the unburned and burning jet fuel with the combo of the burned flesh. the whole 1 year and some i was there, the smell never went away. the smell of burned bodies was on me as well and no matter what i did, it never came out. i chose to stop going up there for anymore work. i couldn't handle it anymore.
