    About Me

    Vietnam veteran, married to my best friend for 39 years.Served in USAF 1966-1970 with time at NKP RTAFB and in Phan Rang, RVN. I was with Task Force Alpha in Thailand (google-igloo white). In RVN I was with 35th CSG. Diagnosed with Type II diabetes in 1998. My son and daughter-in-law presented us with our first grandchild (girl) on Feb 21st. Life is GREAT.

      Hi Elk, my B'day was on the 1st of Oct. My son took me out to dinner.. Today we celebrated 3 family members B'days.. It was lots of fun.. The guys made their homemade wine... Thanks for thinking of me.... And tell me about your B'day.. Have fun??? smiles, Karen

      were all still feeling torn and raggered, probably will for a while to come I think. Not needed, were here for support, not this, but it happpens and have to again maintain for peace. hope you can find yours again soon. All in need of it.

      I am service connected type 2 diabetic due to service in Vietnam and thanks to Agent Orange. I was diagnosed in 1996. The only thing I hate worse than Byetta shots is the constant blood sugar testing. My fingers feel like a pin cushion.

      Treatments

      Byetta Working / Worked
      I haven't really noticed many side effects. It is hard to remember when you are out shopping and decide to eat.
      Glipizide Working / Worked
      10mg 2x/day
      Lipitor Working / Worked
      20 mg day
      Metformin Working / Worked
      1000 mg 2x/day no side effects

    • Open High Blood Pressure

      Elevated blood pressure since I returned from Vietnam in 1970. Taking medicine since 1979. Diabetes II for 10 years.

      Treatments

      Atenolol Working / Worked
      Dr. changed me to Tiazac for better control.
      Diltiazem Working / Worked
      Diovan HCT Working / Worked
      Hyzaar Working / Worked
      New insurance wont cover so Dr. put me on Diovan
