Happy Turkey Day to you and Chriss as well. As far as the transplant goes, not to tell you what to do, I would be put on the list. My sister-in-law who also has CF had a liver transplant sixteen years ago and a double lung transplant almost nine years ago...she is doing wonderful and her health had deteriorated pretty badly before the transplants. Close Cystic Fibrosis
Wife, 29, has CF. I'm 31 w/o CF, but looking for others with or related to someone with CF to discuss successful treatments and just commiserate with.
Treatments
- Chest Percussion Working / Worked
- I do CPT on my wife 2 to 3 times a day.
- Cipro Working / Worked
- She uses this whenever she gets an infection. It normally works quite well. Fortunately her bugs aren't resistant to this despite how many times we've used it.
- Hypertonic Saline Working / Worked
- Just started on this middle of '06, and it's not made as much of a difference as we would have hoped.
- Pulmozyme Working / Worked
- Part of her daily regimen, 2x a day.
- ThAIRapy Vest Somewhat Helpful
- She doesn't use this that often, preferring CPT as she feels that 'shakes her up' better.
- Protonix Working / Worked
- Recently put on this, and it's helped a lot with her stomach pain.
