40 y/o. Male. Artist/Gallery owner. Partnered 9 years. Two dogs. In Midtown Memphis for 15 years. (1 year on the coast until Katrina "helped" me move back) Nice life. Just diagnosed with A rough case Diverticulitus. (History of stomach ulcers also) Always looking for healthy living advice. Trying to learn to deal, because I don't want to have to have surgery. Since my attack around Christmas, I have lost around 30 lbs and it's still coming off. I would've preferred Jenny Craig.
Art, good food (so much for that) Good wine (that's rare now also) Work out regular, not a gym rat, but enjoy it. Enjoy my dogs - except the weenie dog is a little demanding.

I hope you give the psyllium husk supplements a try. They've changed my life! -Bob
I think she would try anything at this point, but having almost died from respiratory failure she can't smoke. And you're right, she can't even choke down a 'brownie'. She does get hungry, but can't stomach any solid food going down her throat. I'm wondering if it's a reaction to having all the tubes down her throat while she was intubated. She had at one point atleast 4 different tubes. It's been 3 weeks since she was extubated and she has just gotten her voice back. Her doctor told her if the situation doesn't change he is going to send her to a neurologist. He thinks she may have suffered minor brain damage due to the deprivation of oxygen. She is having dizzy, vertigo like symptoms also. Thanks for your thoughts. I want so badly to be able to help her.
Diagnosed with a Bad case of Diverticulitis Dec 22, 2007. Never felt pain like that. Was pumped full of morphine and antibiotics and told I'd dodged a bullet, because waiting any longer might have ended up in surgery. Been on one round of Levaquin and an antifungal w/pain meds and a low residue diet, but before I could even start the high fiber diet the pain is creeping back. SO - back for treatment -round two. Fun stuff! Will it ever end?
I was diagnosed with Diverticultis a few months ago. It has been very painful. But, all through my life I have also had trouble with stomach ulcers. I now believe that the ulcer is back and causing problems with the Divertic. Fun Stuff! Looking for answers I guess.
