Numb and Number Mood

My friends have said that they notice a difference in me. I've started a new medication. They said I am more calm, and more 'there'. I guess that is a good thing. But I feel numb. I miss excitement. What do numb people do for thrills? a high feeling? excitement? I'm open to suggestions.

My friends said the same thing about me when I started my abilify. Sorry I don't know of anything to get that high feeling of excitement back. I'd rather be calm than the manic I was before meds as it was horrible for me.

seroquel is what i'm on. it's helping to sleep at night but i'm just 'here' during the day. i thought maybe taking B vitamins would give me energy but it hasn't. i feel more serious. maybe that is a good thing but my playful side has gone dormant.
yes i should document and talk to the Dr. don't know if it'll help though.

I have taken meds that made me more serious, but really sleepy. I dunno, it just felt weird! Part of what makes us so interesting is that we can be a little manic at times! I'm always chirpy and making people laugh with my antics so when my sadness leaks through or I get on some weired meds people REALLY notice the difference! I just wish there was a way to curb my manic feelings without meds. Hang in there Rae Rae!! And NEVER stop being playful...that's I what I love about you! :o)

Focus and seriousness is important but now at the expense of enjoying your life and numbing your playful side, I don't think. I have never been on meds. I just ride the cycling roller coaster, feeling everything intensely. I hope you talk with your doctor and the doc's knowledge will help find you what you need to feel perfect soon.

I miss the highs too... Let me know if anyone has a suggestion. I am on abilify and no numb feeling but I miss the intenseness of the good feelings. And it messes with my creative level too.

Rae, document. I took Zoloft and got that numb feeling. Changed meds and taking much lower dose, much better results and no numb feeling. There is no set rules yet in regards to these medicines. The doctor has to work with you to find what works and what doesn't.

Document Document Document!!! Try to keep a daily journal to reflect on. It's interesting to compare our memory to what we write in the present. Take it with you to the DR. Hugs! Don't think you have to be numb!!!
