About Me
My name is Rich, Im 36 years Old, Im married, with three little boys ages 7 and under and an extremely supportive wife. I was Recently DX with Bipolar II Disorder. For 15 years I have suffered with this illness but never knew what it was. The past 6 months I have been feeling awesome I just hope it stays, I never knew how happy I could be. So far to date I have managed to lose 50lbs.
Interests
I enjoy playing the guitar, Classic Rock and Heavy Metal. Hanging with my family, coaching and playing soccer with m boys.

Close Bipolar Disorder
Im a 35 year old Male and was dx with Bipolar II about 12months ago, I was originally dx with anxiety and depression for the past 15 years which Ive been taking an antidepressant for 10 years. Now seroquel was added but Still on a rollercoaster ride trying to figure out what meds are right and how to cope with this. Lamictal was added and that was the ingrediant I was missing, now Im coming off seroquel and feeling awesome, just having trouble sleeping due to reducking the lamictal
Treatments
- Effexor Working / Worked
- Works well with added Mood Stablizers
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- Lamictal is the best medicine I have ever taken, No side effects and the depression is on the back burner instead of right in the line of fire, Good RX.... Up to 200mg Still good but the high is starting to mello out
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- After 6 months of side effects this medication really helped as well, Im in the process of coming off seroquel due to the side effects, Potential Diabetes, Higher cholesterol etc. Lamictal should work on its own now with the effexor. Currently down 10 100mg, Coming off really slow, down 100 mg in a 4 month period, Slow if you come off.
Close Anger Management
I alway thought I was just an angry person until I was dx with bipolar disorder realizing it was part of manic episodes

- I Play the guitar, it really helps at times, but then when my moods shift I cant be bothered with it.
Open Family & Friends of Bipolar
Im bipolar II and believe my seven year old son may be on the same path, hes very emotional, sad, extreme ups and downs. Recently brought him to a psychologist and they feel its to early to dx but will give him therapy. It breaks my heart to see this little boy suffer because I know how he feels. My two other sons dont seem to have any symptoms.

Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have suffered major depression for alot of years just recently dx with bipolar disorder

- Effexor Somewhat Helpful
- Currently taking 150MG seems to be working
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Worked for a while then switched to Effexor
- Paxil Working / Worked
- Worked for a while, then it stopped. Coming off of this med was horrible
- Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- Currently taking 200mg seems to be helping a bit.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Writing Working / Worked
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Worked for a while then it stopped.
- BuSpar Not Working
- Only on for a short time had major side effects.

Open Bereavement
Type: Loss of a RelativeMy Grandmother was DX in October 07 with Lung Cancer, She Passed Away Feb 19, 08 4 months later. She lived 84 years of perfect health and in 4 months she aged 30 years. The drs said last week she was doing good then 3 days later she died in front of us. Her and I shared Bipolar disorder and had that connection. I will miss her dearly.
