2 years ago my niece was raped at a party. Not knowing or being in denyal she was pregnant but never showed it. The night before she gave birth I seen her on her way out to play volley ball. In no way did she look pregnant. The next morning she gave birth of a baby girl at home. It's as much a shock she had a baby but it lived!! She is a sweet healthy baby.
This week there is a court hearing that the boy who raped her wants custody of her child. He admit's it's his yet in the two years of this childs life he has never seen her nor even went to see her. Now he took my niece to court to get custody.Who would be that arogent to do such a thing when nothing was ever asked of him? Here is someone who force himself on my niece admited it was his child and the DNA says it is as well. All I think he is doing is setting him self up for rape charges and go to jail.
I'm very close to my sister and my nieces and find this very hard, I can't say or do anything but be there for them. This world is so full of mean evel persons it seems like life is getting so hard for everyone. The evel ones who cause the trouble seem to make life a pain...
I went to the court house to see my sister and how sad this situation is. The child is a very happy girl and to put her with a complete stranger would mess her up, she's shy yet...
Ok done venting, there is nothing I can do but pray that he loses and life goes on for this beautful child!

I'm totally surprised the court even allows this case. I mean the guy doesn't have a leg to stand on. Did she report the rape at the time? I guess not. Unless I'm gravely mistaken, I don't think your niece has anything to worry about. If the child is happy and she's taken care of in a good way, what judge in his/her right mind would take the girl away from her mother and hand her over to a rapist?

Aw - this is a hard one. Since the baby is so happy - it is amazing that the court actually made this decision. So sorry.

Is there any way that our neice can prove that her daughters father raped her? Journals from the time, a friend that she talked to anything? Make sure she has tons of charecter witnesses that can contest to the fact that she is a good mother and that the bio father has never had contact with the child... Make sure you talk to several lawyers, try getting a female one, she will have more compassion towards your neice and her situation. Good luck to all of you....
