Hi Mishla...thanks for your reply to my journal entry. That is incredible about your son choosing your Dad's favourite chocolate bar. I just love it when things like this happen. I feel close to my Dad when things like this happen. I hope you have had a nice weekend and your week to come will bring good things for you. Tahnee X

    • Close Parenting 'Tweens (9-12)

2 yrs ago my son had a "bad teacher" It was tough b/c of the damage/her role in the community. I had a bad feeling about her (changes w/ him) but didn't catch things early enough. It has been hard building back the trust in the system after this experience. He is a wonderful kid. I have a lot of guilt for what has happened. But, I have faith that eventually he will triumph over all the negativity she put in our lives.

      Treatments

      Patience Somewhat Helpful
He suffered some self esteem isssues and my neighbor was not supportive when he was having the side-effect problems (when I had been supportive of her child). But patience with my son has begun to pay off.
    • Close Parenting Big Kids (5-8)

My 6 year old is quite a funny little guy. Our neighbors have many nicknames for him (monkey, drama, rocket). He is soooo much fun!

      Treatments

      Education (School) Working / Worked
He loves to learn but sometimes if he is not completely into it he loses focus.
      Listening Working / Worked
His stories can be very funny. Right now, he has some imaginary friends. Sometimes it feel like he has one for every occasion....really cute.
      Patience Working / Worked
He is an active little guy. Sometimes patience is my only ally.

My father died in 1992 of Mesothelioma. They did not catch it in time. (It was already developed in the pleural sac) I struggle with the fact my son's did not get to meet him.
