Snow has slowly started to melt.We have more coming tomorrow night.I was oh so worried about global warming and never seeing snow again. It's not doing much for my pain though.Thought we were having good weather all weekend, but they changed our forecast last night. We had a coat of ice on top of the snow.Heard them telling parents it was going to be cold, and that they should dress their kids warmly to play in the snow.Duh!!!Do you think?I knew it was past my bedtime then.Didn't see any neighborhood children out in shorts and tank tops today though.I guess their parents watched the news...

Talked with my dad's Dr today again. She called him and set up a date for his tests. She told me the 28th,and Dad told me the 25th.Sigh...I'll be on the phone again tomorrow I guess.Dad's sister and I have talked a lot this past week. She is very concerned about him too I know. She didn't want to add stress by telling me she was worried.I didn't want him furious with me for going to his family. His Dr is a real gem.Dad really respects her and had no problem with coming in for the cognitive tests.I felt so much better when he told me what a good idea testing was after losing his sister.I think he felt better admitting that something might be wrong instead of trying to not let on that he was still having problems. We had a very honest conversation and I promised him this was only going to help him.My brother sent him out alone today again.I question so many of the things he's doing.Dad's sister and I are discussing that one too.The legal problems of Dad having POA for my mom's sister and maybe needing one for himself soon are just around the corner. His Dr mentioned us needing to have him draw up papers now.

Quazar slid down the ramp today going to get his ice cream.Joann said he looked very insulted.I stayed behind.Doing that an awfully lot lately. He comes to tell me bye as he dances out the door.Good news about Dad today!I'll take that.

It is so stressful worring about any parant especialy in your situation. Your brother may be in denial about your dad which could create problems later on which you sound very aware of.
I took care of both my parents though it was a short term proposition; cancer took them both very quickly. One right after the other.
I know the concern you feel which brings those feelings back to me; it is not a bad thing for me just memories that I have turned to good ones.
I wish you the best. I'm sure you have spoken to others who have gone through the same thing so you know what to do and expect. This type of situation makes us cherish each and every day we spend with them.
    take care Lesa

I'll keep you and dad in my prayers.

What is next? Parent's sueing the weather channel when they don't tell them to dress their kids warm and the kids get frostbite?

    LOL...with a grimace!

    Many hugs to you!

Yes, that is great news. I hope that they can get some idea of the problem your dad is having and then find something they can do to help. Hey, in that weather I would stay home too.

Yesterday, it rained cats and dogs here in Baton Rouge. About 4:30 the rain is down to nice drizzle, water up in street, puddles, mud everywhere. What did I hear, two kids coming to see if Za could play. Well, he wanted to go, and I told him no, that the rain would make him sick. Of course, that was met with,"well julia and megan are outside". And I explain that Julia and mega have thier own mom, and it was not up to me to keep them in the house, otherwise they would not be out in the rain". With that, Za snatches the door open and tells Julia and Megan.

"I can't come out and play, it is raining, and I will get sick. And, the two of you are going to get sick too!. My granny says you should be in your house."

Oh Lord, I need to explain to him about how to talk to other kids. He told the little boy across the street that he could ride his bycycle without training wells because he was smarter than him. I wanted to crawl under a rock. The little boy is younger than him, not dumber. How do you curb the self praise without killing the self esteem?

I read with interest about how your dad's situation is unfolding. He is very lucky to have the support system in place with family. Will his doctor be in YOUR corner when it comes time to tell your brother that he shold consult the doctor as far as when and if your dad shouldb be allowed to drive by himself? That was a 'big issue' with my mother-in-law when we had to take her car away from her, but she was so unreliable as far as information we knew she would get lost or cause an accident. Good luck to you and the whole family unit. Prayers are being said for all of you! Hug's, Carol

I'm so glad you like the snow so much seeing as you pay for it with added pain, especially now of all times, when your pain is bad to begin with!!! Try to have a good weekend inspite of it. Luvin'hugs/c,
