Journal Entry for July 19, 2008 Mood

This last week has been very interesting.  Worked a different schedule -doing a lot of staff teaching this week -different, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time.  I like to keep my hands in the pt. care.  One of the girls in our group is still out in her own little world and only does what she wants to do, when she wants to do it.  She is so NOT a part of the team.  Another team member is not well -she needed a hysterectomy like 3 months ago, and shi isn't scheduled for surgery until mid-Aug.  I don't think it is right for them to make her suffer for so long.  I will miss her when she is off though.  Another member is getting ready to turn in her resignation -she and her husband are getting ready to move out of state -she is a good friend and I will miss her a lot.  She is dedicated to kids and goes the extra mile to get the kids taken care of.  I hope I stay well enough to work -even though I am scheduled part time hours -I sometimes-OK -a lot of times work extra.  It may get to the point where I am the only one left of the 4 of us to do PICCS -that would be bad.  It will take at least 6-9 months for someone to become trained well enough to be independent in this position.  I am not sure what will happen there.

Daryl.  He got and started taking Chantix to quit smoking.  Still drinking - not sure how much.  He's been a little nicer this week.  He still thinks the F and F Doc is a quack.  I finally said to him -if you had a respiratory problem, then wouldn't you go to a resp. doctor?  Or if you had cancer, wouldn't you go to a hematologist?  So if you have CFS/FMS - then why wouldn't you go to a specialist for that?  It is not covered by insurance -not most of it anyway, and it is expensive.   I am taking a lot of vitamins and natural herbal products in addition to the precription meds.  My Dad gave me a gift of $10,000 because he says my siblings have all gotten that much money or more just from borrowing and never paying back.  I think he gave it to me so I can afford to get this treatment and get better since it seems to be working.

F and F appointment.  Lasted about an hour with the Doc.  I asked him not to rush me since it was sort of rushed the first time.  He answered all my questions and went over all my lab work.  He changed my thyroid medicine to something called bioidentical T3/T4.  It has to made by a compounding pharmacy -but is not too expensive - not more than my highest teir co-pay for prescription drugs.  I asked what I should do about the endocrinologist.  He said I don't have "subclinical hypothyroidism"  I HAVE hypothyroidism.  I can't wait for this prescription to come in the mail so  I can start it -probably Mon.  He said most endocrinologists won't work with him -so I am not sure what I will do about that.  I just had labs drawn for that appointment in about 10days -so I guess I will have to see what they say -if he will work with this Dr. or not.  In addition to the other problems and deficiencies I already know about, I am in need of extra B12, and some hormones estriol and testosterone too.  When I asked about the shaking/tremoring, he increased the amount of the nasty effusion powder I take to double and added extra magnesium and potassium.  He also thinks I have an underlying Yeast infection -so will be starting a 6-12 week course of Diflucon.  The other thing is not enough growth hormone so I will be taking something that stimulates its production.  It has something to do with the hypothalamus not working right.  My sleep is still disordered -not enough in a chunk, although I am devoting more time to sleep.  I am going to have to change my schedule a little bit to go to bed earlier so the kids don't wake me up so much in the morning  -as well as teach the kids not to keep waking me up -he offered some help in this area as well -a tape and program that might help.  Even though I feel better, I have more pain.  The doc figured out after asking a few questions that since I feel better, I am trying to do more -and it is too much -so I get sore.   DAAAA -to me.  My impatience comes out once again.  The IV treatments are realy helpful.  It was closer to like 11 days since I had had the last one, and I could tell -I was getting weaker and cranky easier, and much sorer.  I hope they start lasting longer.  One of the supplements -one of the ones I need for sleep -was out of stock -so I am rationing what I have left.  I don't know when it will come.  I hope this doesn't screw me up.

Counselor -I am out of time and starting to get tired -big story there -so stay tuned!  Night all!
