Wow... we had an awesome day, yesterday!

Steve and Alex (my 9 yr. old.) and I went to the 'Bass Pro Shop', which is about an hour away from us, using the toll road...

I went totally nuts there. (I LOOOOOOOOVE fishing!!!!!)

We ended up spending just under $400.00, just on stuff for me. (a new Shimano 4000 reel, many luers, a new, pink fishing net, more flashlights... I'm addicted to flashlights... and the most awesome new tackle box you ever saw.)

The tackle box has 4, clear, pull-out boxes for putting luers, etc. in... the top flips open, to hold quite a bit more stuff. (like my plastic gloves, wipes, fishing line, hook removers, pliers, flashlights, etc.) It's a really pretty burgundy color, and I just LOOOOOVE it!!!! (It's just so pretty.)

Now I can't wait to go fishing. The kids' last day of school is Friday, so I told Alex that we would start going next week. (he's my little fishing buddy... the bigger kids just aren't into it, like we are.)

He got a new pole/reel... that shoots like a gun! It's SO awesome!!! A really popular fishing guy from TV invented it, and it's an awesome design.

Alex won't be able to fish for the big carp, like I will, because the pole couldn't bear the weight of them, but I will let him pull mine in for me, sometimes. (he totally loves that!)

Carp put up an incredible fight, and they're so huge. Plus, I can use corn, for bait. (I can't use live bait... no way.) I just release them, as soon as I get them in. (it's not like we eat them... gross.)

Most people don't fish for carp, because they are yucky to eat. I never eat the fish that I catch, so I just fish them for the thrill of the fight. (they put up such an AWESOME fight!!!) I have broken rods, and reels on them, they're such fighter's! (that's why I have to go with really good gear... so it will hold up.)

Anyone want to go fishing with me???

I would love to go! We have a canal near where I live (behind the bar I hang out at) and there are the biggest carp in there! I love Bass pro's stuff. We have a Cabelas not far from here (about an hour), I think I will take the kids soon. Have fun fishin!- Love - John

I live about two hours away from the Bass Pro Outdoor World... or whatever it is called... the largest Bass Pro there is. LOL But then again I also live in the Bass Capitol too ;) I don't fish though... to me, I'd rather be out skiing or something ;)

OK. I'm going fishing, and I will bring the tator salad for the fish fry. I am a fly fisherman, I fish for rainbow, brook, and brown trout in the mountain streams of West Virinia. I live 1 1/2 miles from a 16,000 acre lake and two large streams and the Ohio river is only about 8 miles away but I drive three hours to trout fish. Be safe and enjoy the fishing.
