    About Me

I'm 23 yrs old. I am married to a great guy. We've been together for 5 years and marrried for 2. I was just diagnosed with PCOS Jan 3, and I've had some difficulties dealing with it. But I'm trying to stay positive and hope for the best. I work as a teacher at a daycare, and this can be a blessing and can also make this whole PCOS thing even harder. But most of the time, it makes the days easier. It's kinda hard to pout and feel sorry for yourself when you have 5 children (or more) demanding your attention all day long.

    Interests

I am a HUGE football fan, and I never thought I'd say that. Ever since 2007 playoffs, I've been hooked. GO COLTS!!I really enjoy reading and photography. I also enjoy writing from time to time.

      Type: Hormonal Disorders

My husband and I had been trying for a year to have a baby. My doctor said it was no big deal but if nothing changed in a year I needed to come back and see him. I decided instead to go to an OB/GYN and she diagnosed me with PCOS on Jan 3rd. It's been really difficult because I feel that I was portraying symptoms nearly a year before being diagnosed. But now I know and we're treating it. Hopefully I will have a child of my own soon.

      Treatments

      Clomid Too Soon to Tell
I'm starting Clomid this cycle. Kinda nervous. Hope it works.
      Metformin Working / Worked
I started taking Metformin in January. I worked my way to 2000mg but it was too much. I'm not back at 1500mg/day. It's helped regulate me and even helped me drop a few lbs.
      Progesterone Somewhat Helpful
It did bring my period around, but the cramps that I had were horrible. It made my arm go numb so I've since decided to quit taking it. My dr. decided to prescribe Provera instead.
    • Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

I was diagnosed with PCOS on Jan 3rd of this year. I really want to know how to deal with this and what to expect. I was having so many symptoms ever since I came off of B/C last year, and none of my regular doctors even suggested PCOS. Everyone had some thing else to blame the symptoms on. Now that I know, I'm hoping I can treat it and start a family soon.

      Treatments

      Clomid Too Soon to Tell
I'm supposed to start Clomid this cycle, and I'm really excited, even though I've heard the side effects aren't very pleasant.
      Metformin Working / Worked
I'm on 2000mg/day. It seems like it's working. I've already lost a little weight and I'm starting to get regulated.
      Progesterone Somewhat Helpful
So far it's working, but the cramps that go with it have been pretty uncomfortable. It also made my arm go numb at one point. Don't think I'll be continuing this medicine.
      Provera Considering
The dr called this in for me to replace the prometrium, but I haven't decided if I want to take it yet.
