What the %%##@@ am I supposed to do? I did nothing for 4 days, relaxed on the couch watched tv/dvd between dozing & only got up for drinks etc. I went to the local shops to get some groceries with hubby on Sunday, we were only out for 1 hour & I was exhausted. Got my voice back & coughing is gradually easing so went to work on Monday - boy was that a struggle & I was so glad that I had the scooter to get to the station & home. The others at work noticed that I was unsteady on my feet & left foot barely meets right foot when I walk with the walker & they are small steps. I only moved from my desk when I had to (loo & lunch etc) & was glad to be going home at 3pm. I am only working 5 hours but I have breaks & it takes me over an hour each way so I leave home at 6.45am & get home about 5pm depending on the train so it is a long day. I wont be increasing my hours thats for sure. Anyway I got on my scooter to come home & could barely get my left hand to the handle grip on scooter so just rested it on it, luckily the control is on the right side. Was falling asleep on the couch all night last night & left side was very painful - hot spasms, cramps, & weak & stayed the same with small relief after strong pain killers. Finally got some sleep last night but woke up to a shocker today. Both legs were numb, they had been cramping & hot spasms earlier. I got up & managed to get to the loo & came out to kitchen for more pain killers. Went back to bed for another couple of hours.
I was in so much pain every time I tried to move then found that not only was I incontinent with urine (which has gradually being getting worse) now my bowels have got even worse control (had hoped it was the virus causing follow through of farts). Change of clothes then put washing on (hadnt planned to wash today).
Today I managed to hang a load of washing on the line using my head & right arm, not even trying to bring it in. Then a friend came over & she helped me by getting me a bowl of yogurt & drink for lunch & drinks for her & 2 girls. Also did the dishes & organised my containers of fruit salad to take to work with me. We exchanged Christmas presents (we always leave it till Jan after the mad Dec)
I am managing to walk around the house with the walker & small steps, legs hurt too much & I lose my balance if I move without it.
Sorry about another whine but I am really struggling to keep going. I manage to get to work on the days I am due there & want to do that as it takes my mind off my problems & keeps me more active as well as $$. Wonder how much longer I will be able to continue though if it keeps going like it is currently.

What the @$@#@? I agree! Ok, moving on... Do what you can hon. Some days are better than others. Don't get your self down. We all have those times when we just want to throw the walker, cane, wheelchair, etc.. right out the window! You have a great spirit about you. I know you will have some relief real soon! I will keep you in my thoughts! Love, M
