Close Bipolar Disorder

It's a long one, so I'll say it's been hell on wheels. More later if anyone is interested. I've accomplished a lot in spite of this illness, but I've screwed up a lot of jobs, too.

Abilify Not Working

Depakote Working / Worked

It worked, but I lost hearing in both ears, and it might or might not have as a result of the drug. I now need 2 hearing aids. Also, I had very dry eyes, a very dry mouth, a got a lot of dental cavities. I decided to changed to lamictal. Thankfully, that worked, since I was begining tobecome a chemical nightmare. The "new" depokote that you took only once a week didn't work for me at all. I got very manic while on it.

Group Therapy Somewhat Helpful

It was short-lived. The group disbanded.

Haldol Working / Worked

This worked only when I was hospitalized on 3 occasions doe extreme mania - bordering on psychosis. I don't take it now.

Lamictal Working / Worked

It's working great with few side effects, but it make me very clumsy.

Lithium Not Working

A total nightmare. This was the first drug I tried. I developed an enormous thirst and appetite. I gained 30 lbs. in 6 weeks, and it messed up my thyroid. I went on a 1,000 calorie a day diet, and the scale was still was still going up. I also had terrible left-hand tremors. After getting off the drug, my doctor put me on a low dose of synthroid, and 15 lbs. dropped offr without any dieting. As for the other 15 lbs., I had to det it off, but at least the scale stopped going up.

Risperdal Somewhat Helpful

In low doses it helped witg extreme manic outbursts, but while hospitalized, a doctor gave me too high of a dosage, and I had uncontrobable arm and leg movements that cause me to fall, vomit, and really be dizzy and embarrased. That experience was terrible.

Seroquel Not Working

It just didn't work for me.

Tegretol Not Working

I was home, but the lights were out. My speech was very slow. Then my doctor accidenty overdosed me, and I experienced quadruple vision and fainting. I went off the med.

Topamax Working / Worked

This drug works best for nerve pain coming from my back and right leg.

Wellbutrin Not Working

I really don't remember. I guess I still had break-through depressions.

Zyprexa Not Working

Bad side effect that I can't remember.
