Feeling: Ok  - Ok
Gender: Female
Age: 60
Location: AUS
Interests:
Wisdom and behaving well, based on religion "supplemented" by much else. I love music and "chilling out". May I be in balance. Please do not tell me what to do as I consider that not to be your right and this bothers me as I am an abuse survivor. But I value people's ideas, presented respectfully.
About Me:
I am an intelligent, creative and capable person who can also feel the opposite of that and who would appreciate support re some serious things I am dealing with. I am a helping professional and I have a strong religious faith and an enquiring mind. God is immensely important to me. I work from home; read a lot; love music, have many pets; am a gardener; and am doing a Master of Theology in philosophy re Emmanuel Levinas on the topic of loving one's neighbour as oneself (not for my job as I am fully qualified). I am actually quite hard headed, with a soft heart.

Read your journal entry about maybe quitting this site. Boy, do I know where you are coming from. Why do people have to be so cruel. I am quitting this site cuz people want to be your best friend, then forget you exist. Or if I ask for advice, I sometimes get blasted and abused for sharing personal painful stuff. I have NEVER and would NEVER abuse of mistreat anyone on this site. I am a genuine real person. Anyway, I only wish the best for you always.

 Physical & Emotional Abuse
Am in a long term abusive, dysfunctional relationship. Have 3 teenage and one older children - 1 at home ( am so sad). Have been working at improving/change what I can all along & trying to understand. Need to get sure of what to believe and not get brought down by how my h, kids, etc are to me. I think I will have to divorce him within the next year and this confuses and frightens me. Am a professional working from home & doing a part time master's thesis in an unrelated field - philosophy.

 Breakups & Divorce
Am in a long term abusive, dysfunctional relationship. Have 3 teenage and one older children - 1 1/2 at home. Have been working at improving/change what I can all along & trying to understand. Treatments
 Couples Counseling (Not Working)
Hopeless for us. My husband would not really participate except for last time when I got him to start and he said I was crazy, etc - and then the counsellor used his accusations as topics for discussion (which we full of my husband's negativity). It doesn't work with an abuser.
 Forgiveness (Working / Worked)
Ok, I'll put this in. But I'd call it something else.
 Leave (Working / Worked)
Can be just fantastic but I get it seldom so do it in other ways, sort-0f.
 Love (Working / Worked)
Ok, yes, only I'd come at it from a different angle.
 Music (Working / Worked)
Often ! Fantastic
 Pets (Working / Worked)
yes
 Psychotherapy (Not Working)
Sometimes, over the years, I got some helpful insights but really it wasn't worth it. It really cannot be counted on to work regardless - and that is a FACT !
 Reading (Working / Worked)
Very much
 Religion (Working / Worked)
Very important to me
Support from Friends & Family (Not Working)
Didn't get. My sister in law said I was obviously not firm enough with him. She was very firm with my H's brother - she was/is a bigger narcissist than him and he wanted a Mommy.
 Support Groups (Somewhat Helpful)
Also have a definite risk and can be a waste of time.
 Talking (Working / Worked)
If I can but it depends
 Time (Somewhat Helpful)
Helps in some ways but then again I have dreadful moments now
 Mind work (Working / Worked)
Very important. Various sorts. Can be taught by good therapy but there are many other ways.
