Loosing more than just him - I am with you on that. We have been together thirteen and a half years and he is my life (except my kids). I have been through so much with him and like you before him never realized what true happiness was. I thought I had it and had it for life - he said he would never dump me. I knew our love was real. Then something snapped - he said it was his job, not me or us. Then last Friday out of no where I opened divorce papers in the mail. He never said a word. I am crushed and can't function. I don't know where to turn or what to do..... we will live - we just don't really want to.
