    About Me

Not working due to chronic pain and fatigue associated with fibro, bursitis and DDD, etc.; married for 2nd and last time to my best friend Jim; we have 5 kids between us and two significant others of theirs whom have joined the family. Live with our dog, Rufus, and cat, Dude, in a two-bedroom bungalow with a garage larger than the house which my hubby and his friends helped build.

    Interests

Like going to the casinos; walking the beach and swimming in the ocean; riding on the Harley when we can; disaster movies; use to love dancing but can't do much of that now; like country and rock music; and told I have a good sense of humor; ohhh and LOVE coffee!

      From Bobbi0725 August 22

The sleep study seems very intimidating, but it's not. It's a little wierd not being in your own bed. Keep us updated on how it goes. Just don't rub your eyes after you wake up.....I did and rubbed the adhesive (from something to stuck to my face) right into my eyes and had an allergic reaction to it. I couldn't see very well for 2 days.....lol. Good luck!!! Bobbi

    • Close Fibromyalgia

Well you can look on my profile for list of my conditions but basically trying this online support group because I feel so alone due to my conditions.

      Treatments

      Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
Was taking 4 (10 mg) a day but dr. said I shouldn't take more than 3 so I'm taking 2 in the am and 1 at nite with the Cymbalta; think it works well and no side effects
      Cymbalta Working / Worked
Still using it and does help. Taking 90 mg. at night. No side effects that are obvious.
      Heat Working / Worked
Depends on the type of pain I'm experiencing; I know if heat doesn't work ice usually does.
      Morphine Working / Worked
Taking oxycodone w/apap(5/325 1x day) for breakthrough pain; takes the edge off but doesn't get rid of pain entirely; pcp very hesitant in prescribing this though
      TENS Working / Worked
Would love to get one of these machines which my chirpractor uses and will have my pcp look into this when I see her next appt. in January.
      Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
Take a multivitamin and addl. vitamins my system seems to lack; no side effects and not sure its working but will continue to supplement since my system seems to need it
    • Close Chronic Pain

I am in chronic pain due to fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease; this was due to a fall down the cellar steps while doing laundry in feb, 2005

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
Love it! First thing I tried and my chiropractor is irreplaceable. I've learned so much from her about using alternative methods in dealing with pain; such as self-hypnosis tapes, ice packs, heating pad, waist girdle for support, etc.
      Cymbalta Working / Worked
Working so far; may need to revise dosage soon; notice little sad thoughts and anger getting thru
      Flexeril Working / Worked
Use it mostly to relax my muscles
      Heat Working / Worked
depends on which pain is acting up; if muscles already feel inflamed, then I use ice packs
      Meditation Working / Worked
I use a meditation tape about back pain and also one for weight loss which usually puts me right to sleep. lol
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
Takes the edge off the pain so I can breathe
      TENS Working / Worked
LOVE this machine. Zaps the muscle and pain goes away.
