I haven't decided whether or not to have treatment. I haven't had a biopsy done yet. I am being told that hvc has no symptoms, so my feeling is why start interferon and be sick for almost a year (1A) when this isn't causing any of my problems. Let me know if this sounds logical to you and please let me know if there are things I am missing about this. I am getting an education on illnesses and taking one day at a time as I search for the answers on how to treat this situation. I was accepted to collect SSDI, and they gave me a 2 1/2 year retro check to get started. So at least I don't have to go to work I can stay home in bed all day if I like. I have good days and bad days, but am still very confused about the reasons people do the interferon in the first place. I would appreciate all information about this. Thank you. Peace be with all of you. :)
Hello Julia, only the biopsy can tell you if you should or shouldn't do treatment.
Like if your hep c is dormant, and no activities whatsoever with your enzyme, ect... you might be able to wait for a better treatment, but if your numbers are abnormally high and your biopsy showes damage, I would really be thinking of treatment.
you don't want to wake up one day and be at stage 4 nothing to do but to go on a transplant list.
Just so you know, there are people here that this has happenned to them, they had no symptoms, then 20 years later it was too late for treating it.
Good luck... Mckenzie One day at the time

Hello Julia, I went through much of the same experience,But I did have a biopsy and I was at stage 2 with no real symptoms or Viral load. I tried TX could't do it the first time. My VL went way up and started TX 8 mos ago. If I hadn't??? I wish you peace and clarity on your decision.
