I am very sorry for your loss. My husband of 30 years died of Esophageous Cancer Aug 07. I know your pain he was the best husband and so full of life he just retired March 1st only to have his world crushed March 5th with that dismal diagnoses and being told he did not have long to live. What a thing to hear just when you planned to retire and travel and have fun in our lives. Two weeks before he died my daughter was diagnosed with rare lung cancer she had 31 tumors taken out of her left lung and still needs to have her right lung operated on and she is paralized on her left side from 4 brain surgeries so my life is full of good news. I wish you the best and I know how hard it is and what you are going through you did have a lot more time with you husband that I did with mine and I always wish I would have had a little more time but he was taken from me way to soon and I will never get over him. It hurts so bad. Finishline

    • Close Esophageal Cancer

My husband of 38 years was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2005, he had the surgery plus 2 rounds of chemo and radiation. After surgery he was declared cancer free, then in January 06 they found another tumor, he passed away Nov. 20,07.

      Treatments

      Chemotherapy Somewhat Helpful
First round of chemo wasn't to bad, had some mouth sores and nausea. 2nd time he lost his hair, and was sick.
      Radiotherapy Somewhat Helpful
1st round of rad. was hard, burned skin terribly. 2nd round was not as bad.
      Surgery Somewhat Helpful
his surgery was horrible from the the get go, but he managed to make the best of it.
