About Me
Hi, I'm John and I'm an alcoholic. My first day sober after about 30+ years of serious drinking was November 8, 2007. I can not remember a single day in those 30+ years that I didn't have a drink. I'm a single father. My son is 18 now. I've raised him by myself. I try to maintain a very positive attitude on the exterior and I'm damned good at it. Now that I've got a few months of sobriety under my belt, my interior is getting better too. I play guitar and I keep up with current affairs. I am a writer and have a warped sense of humour. hauli007@hotmail.com for MSM.
Interests
My last drunk was November 7, 2007. I love music and I play guitar. I'm a writer and an avid reader. Fine dining is a real pleasure. I'm quite a romantic. I do a fair amount of volunteer work. I'm not religous but I believe in Alcoholics Anonymous. It has saved my life.

Hi I'm John and I'm an alcoholic. Thanks to all of my friends here on Daily Strength and AA I have remained sober. This is my first attempt ever to quit drinking. I drank daily for almost 35 years until November 8, 2007
Treatments
- 12 Step Program Working / Worked
- An excellent progam. It is keeping me sober. One needn't have religious beliefs to use AA successfully. I don't!
- AA Meetings Working / Worked
- I love the meetings. Great people and great support. This has been the key to my sobriety thus far.
- Cold Turkey Working / Worked
- Everyone has to do this.
- Serax Working / Worked
- Useful in the first weeks of sobriety. Watch out. It's addictive.
- Willpower Working / Worked
- So far it's working.
