Am quite the bookworm and love to socialize with friends. Have been active in the women's movement, aarp, make-a-wish, PBS-auctions. Was a typesetter in New York City and did executive secretarial work there too. Have lived in California, Arizona (as a child) and Massachusetts plus Texas (as an adult). But being born in Brooklyn... makes me a true New Yorker at heart.
Am taking adult courses in literature, political science and climate change. Do some writing as well. Find I am "too upset" to volunteer with the shingles pain. I also swim at a nearby pool because I have difficulty walking.

Hope you are having a grand ole day!!!!!!!! I'm going to garden today, as it feeds my Soul. Take care of yourself.
Thank you for your reply. I'm much better now, and that is a good thing!! B6 is what helped me physically, and getting off the pain meds, emotionally. But it sure takes time..........arg!
TYSM for your reply! I will ask the doc about the patches. I myself have tried the Lyrica and it wasn't doing anything for me except making me drugged up. The percocet 10's help but again, they make me loopy. The patch sounds perfect. You're a blessing! thanks again!
Here's a great big hug...and flowers too. Take care of yourself..Dodo
came down june 2007, still have the problem today and found the post shingles pain to be some times worse than the original shingles. keep truding along and hope this sort of melts away with time.
Came down with shingles this year in June. It last around 3 months. Now I have the post shingles pain which is worse. It is very confusing because it is on my spine and I am very unhappy. The pain is like a horrible spasm involving nerves, muscles and bones. My insurance company denied me the vaccine and I am very upset.
Was born with dislocation of the hip. sorry to say that i began to have joint pain in my 40's. the docs have said that my walking is slightly off balance due to the birth problem. now in my 60's the problem is getting very bad on some days.
