Close Colon Cancer
Stage: IV (Any T, Any N, M1)My mom was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colon cancer that has spread to her liver June 20th. Going through shock and emotions still.. I moved back home to be with her.. then we had a blockage and had to have surgery. She is now going through Chemo every other week.
Treatments
- 5-FU Somewhat Helpful
- We are not sure if this drug is helping as of yet. To date, cancer has not grown, but has not shrunk either.
- Avastin Not Working
- Because of surgery, Mom started this treatment. Too soon to tell results...update.. TERRIBLE for her! won't go back and can't remember what they switched her to.
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- Guess you would say treatment is working as the cancer has not traveled nor has it grown since chemo started.
- Oxaliplatin Somewhat Helpful
- Again, not sure if working. She does have trouble with cold items for about 5 days after treatments.. well, at first.. now it seems to not be going away between treatments
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Removed blockage which in turn changed how she feels greatly.
