Close Infidelity

I found out that my H was having an affair the day of his grandmothers funeral. I had been suspicious for awhile but hadn't found any proof. I confronted him that day and after denying it he finally admitted it. He said he was in love with her and he didn't know what he wanted. 3 days later he came home and said that he was sorry, he didn't know what was wrong with him and he wanted to make it work. A little over a month later her husband called to tell me they were having an affair.

Couples Counseling Somewhat Helpful

I say somewhat helpful because my H stopped going after awhile. The counselor said that there was no need for him to continue if he wasn't going to do the homework he gave and he didn't want to be there. I has helped me though and I am still going.

Forgiveness Not Working

I really tried the first time and was able to make peace with it and forgive him. Not forget mind you but forgive. Little did I know that everything that came out of his mouth was a lie and that he never really stopped seeing her. Since finding out the second time, forgiveness has not come so easily. I have really tried but keep coming back to the old saying..."Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me!"
