About Me: I am old. 55 but feel ancient. I have had back pain for 15 + years. Nothing has ever made it go away. I work hard and love my family. I have two beautiful grandsons, ages 4 and 9. They are the loves of my life. My husband is disabled. I am the family breadwinner and the person carrying the insurance, and often the burdens of life.

I have lost 65 lbs in 6 months on a medical monitored program. Although I know how to eat, I find myself slipping back to my old ways. I need some support
Treatments
Atkins Diet (Not Working) Made me sick
Eating Healthier Foods (Too Soon To Tell) Hard work. Hard to maintain
Eat Less (Working / Worked) hard work, hard to maintain
Jenny Craig (Not Working)
Physical Exercise (Working / Worked) Hard to keep doing it
Weight Watchers (Not Working) too many choices, re: junk food.

Depression
Clinical (Major) Depression

I have been on multiple meds for several years. Now I feel as if I have SAD as well. See a psyc, don't think it helps much. Have to push myself to keep going
Treatments
Celexa (Not Working) made me feel like a zombie
Cymbalta (Not Working) currently at 20 mg, tried to wean off last summer, did not work,now I cannot seem to stop without vertigo, dizziness
Effexor (Not Working) caused weight gain
Elavil (Somewhat Helpful) sedating
Meditation (Working / Worked) I have a dard time maintaining
Paxil (Not Working) Major weight gain
Positive Thinking (Somewhat Helpful) Wish I could
Prozac (Working / Worked) Worked for the short period of time I was on it
Psychotherapy (Considering) I need to find really good therapist
Trazodone (Not Working) Overly sedating
Wellbutrin (Working / Worked) helps me get going in the morning

Glucosamine/Chondroitin (Not Working)
Ibuprofen (Somewhat Helpful) stomach no longer toleratesw NSAIDs
Medrol (Working / Worked) It worked but no longer does -- at least in the dose packs
Pain Management Clinic (Somewhat Helpful) many injections at first pain clinic. I have an appt at a new pain management clinic that uses a multidisciplinary approach
Swimming (Working / Worked) Now that the weather is better I am able to get in the pool and have some relief
Tylenol (Not Working) totally useless
