Well yesterday I was still brain dead.  I needed to go grocery shopping in town and get out ASAP because they were going to have a parade at 1PM.  I got up early, done dishes, even left on time, was in Buckhannon by 9AM when the drugstore would be opening (I had to go to RiteAid for some sale items and CVS by 10AM to pick up a prescription. 

I made my bank deposit then went to Wal-Mart, picked up a few items and got my wallet out to write a check and found a check I was supposed to cash at the bank.  The cashier at Wal-Mart said that they cash checks so she done that.  I was glad because town was already full of traffic and people were setting up chairs along the streets.  I didn't want to back track to the bank.

I go next to the hospital for my bloodwork.  It is 9:34, I pull in and check my purse to make sure that I have my orders and then I go into register.  I signed by papers picked up my purse to go to the lab and I said "Where are my keys?"  I looked on the desk , in the floor, in all my pockets, in my purse.  No keys.  I go outside and there they were in the switch.  I forgot to take them out when I checked to make sure i had my paperwork.  But I didn't forget to lock the vehicle.  I do not carry a spare set of keys so I was stuck.

I go back inside to call the Toyota garage because it is about 1/2 mile from the hospital.  Nobody is in on Saturday's to make a key.  The hospital staff sent a maintenance guy out and he has all the tools to try to unlock it.  He worked on it for almost an hour, we could not get in.  I have a Toyota Tacoma and it has a flat lock and the door does not open by the door handle, you have to unlock it.

Some kind soul that stopped at the hospital, as he walked by us working on the lock, asked if a I had insurance with towing.  He said a towing service could get into the vehicle.  It was after he suggested that that i remembered that I have a certified vehicle with Emergency Roadside Assistance.  I called the number and they said they would send a tow truck to me.  I finally got into my vehicle at 11:58.  The tow truck told me to take back roads to head out of town because he had gotten hung up in traffic coming through.  I had to back track just a bit to pick up my groceries.  I wasn't about to leave town without getting them and have to come back nexc week.  It was 12:23PM when I got out of the grocery store.

I had to meet my roadbowling team at 1:30 back home.  I live an hour from town so I was down to just an hour to get there.  I called my boys to have them meet me so that we could trade vehicles.  I would let them take my truck with the groceries home and they could leave me the 4Runner to come back home.   I got back to where I was to catch my ride at 1:22.

Oh, I forgot.  I drove through Long John Silvers and ordered two #7's and one #8 with ice tea.

They gave me drinks then reach out my bag of food then I go to KFC to get Roasted Chicken Wrap and decide to start eating my #8, so I open the bag and there are only two boxes, 3 sets of forks and no straws.  So, I go back and ask for my meal.

What a day.  I thought I was going to have to watch the parade and have my team members bring a spare key but everything worked out.  I think I will have a key made and keep in my purse.
