I am a bartender, and have been for over 6 years. I'm a middle child, my parents have been married for 34 years, and I have a great boyfriend of over 5 years. I enjoy reading, meeting new people and educating myself about endometriosis. I sometimes find it hard to forgive, but it's something I'm slowly working on. I love sports - some would say that I am dangerously obsessed with watching my beloved Cleveland Indians. I hope to get out of debt and go back to school one day. Close Endometriosis
I was 17 years old when I began having the infamous "girly pains". After being rushed to the hospital because I had nearly collapsed at work from the pain, my doctor informed me that I had multiple cysts that were leaking into my abdominal cavity. After 3 years on BCP, I finally convinced my GYN to do a laparoscopy. I was 20 years old when I was officially diagnosed with PCOS and severe endometriosis. I'm now 27 and can't wait to have a family, but this disease makes it seem nearly impossible.
Treatments
- Extended-Cycle Birth Control Not Working
- Seasonale became too expensive, so my GYN put me on a normal pill and advised me to skip the last row every month. I always seem to get sick when taking BCP's, and I am also very bad at remembering to take it every single day.
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- I had a laparoscopy in March of 2001. The pain subsided for about a year, but returned worse than ever.
- Depo-Provera Not Working
- I got the Depo shot back in December of 2007, and I have had constant bleeding since January 15th. It is now March 13th. This is a disaster.
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Treatments
- Aldactone Too Soon to Tell
- So far, no real side effects. Just waiting patiently for some results.
- Laparoscopic Surgery Not Working
- Had surgery back in 2001, and the symptoms are worse than ever before.
- Oral Contraceptives Not Working
- Hard to take due to nausea and forgetting to take it every single day.
- Depo-Provera Not Working
- Still have constant pain and bleeding. I will not be going back for another shot.
Open Painful Intercourse
Treatments
- Depo-Provera Not Working
- Seeing how I have been bleeding for nearly 2 straight months, I am not even able to have sex. This shot is not working for me at all.
