Still Struggling
Still dealing with the low-pressure headache. Neurosurgeon's office cannot bring me in any earlier and …
Doctors! Why is it that doctors can't just send the information they know the other doctor needs? I need to go to a neurosurgeon for my neck, my doctor faxed over his referral. His office called me and said that they called the neurosurgeon and that the neurosurgeon needed a day to locate my records since it has been two years since I have seen him, but that the neurosurgeon's office would call me soon to schedule an appointment. Well I waited, no call. So I called the neurosurgeon's office and asked what the problem was, they said they are still waiting for my doctor to send over my MRI results and his notes before they can set up an appointment. So I called my doctor's office and told them they need to send my MRI results and doctor's notes over to the neurosurgeon's office so that I can have an appointment with him. The lady said "ok, um...well I will put a note on the doctor's desk that this is what needs to be done." Why can't she just fax these things over? I just want to scream!!! Does anyone care that I am in a ton of pain?????? Does anyone care that I can't even pick up my 3 year old anymore??? And he is sick with an ear infection!!!! Let's stop stalling people! I am in pain here!! I need to get the ball rolling!!!!!!
To be fair, I should add that my Doctor did call in a perscription for muscle relaxers and they are helping some.
UPDATE! The neuosurgeon's office called, they can get me in Dec. 3 at 1pm. If there is a cancellation between now and then they will call me. Man oh man! That seems like a long time from now, but at least it is scheduled. That is progress.

so sorry Becky...have a friend in the same position as you....maybe it's these hew HIPPA laws or something....bet your butt if it was them, they would have it done! I have been having some trouble myself with my back, so I know what you mean about living with pain.........and I know that it hurts not to hold your son....sending lots of encouragement and prayers for you that those things work out for you and that you feel better soon....
they say the squeaky wheel gets the oil....so call them and bug them to death.....then they will get the HINT!! love ya

Stay on them, hon, frustrating though it may be; the squeaky wheel is the one that get the grease. If you get on hteir nerves enough, they will get up and do something, if only so they don't have to talk to you again.

Hey sweety hope you feel better real soon.

I'm so sorry about your pain and that your son has an ear infection. The others are right. Keep bugging the doctors. Maybe if you call them every morning to see if they have a cancellation they won't forget about you. Am praying for you.

I seen it all with my own eyes, I worked in a doctor's office for three doctors and you are so right. They receptionist consults the doctor first and when they get to their messages thats when they get wind of what is going on & forget if they have to leave out for emergency. When you are persistence to do get more of a response. I really pray for the best for you. I agree with LynneC too. You take it easy.

I agree with Lynne. Sometimes they forget that you need to be seen right away. Call everyday. Someone is bound to cancel before then. That's 13 days away! But they'll give the appointment away to someone else who calls in instead. So stay on them. Blessings darlin.

I will be praying that you can get in sooner and get some relief from the pain.
