We went to breakfast with my parents, and then spent the day at my parents' house. My Grandma (Step-mom's Mother) and two Aunts came too. I gave my Step-mom a big bouque of flowers and a card. She was so appreciative of this, it was like I had given her a diamond necklace! I am so glad that I could bring her that much happiness.
My Step-mom gave a gift to my boys to give me, from them. It was two little candles. On them they say "Angel Kisses" For those of you who haven't read my Grandma's Life Story web site, there is a very big reason that this is important! When I was little, 4 or 5 years old. I hated my freckles. So I tried to scrub them off. My Grandma caught me doing this, and said "Don't scrub the angel kisses away!" And she showed me her arms, which were covered with freckles. She said these are all angel kisses. She pointed to my arms and said you are well loved by the angels. I tell my boys that their freckles are angel kisses so they will never feel ashamed of them like I was. My parents must have read that off that site, and found these candles. It was a real moment for me today.
I realized tonight, that as of this weekend, it has been 9 years since we burried my Mother's ashes. It has been two weeks since my Grandmother died.
I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!
I'm so glad you had a good day! My mom used to call my freckles angel kisses too!
Hugs Becky!
